Partnerships

Manx Birdlife is a partner in the Seabird Monitoring Programme. The Seabird Monitoring Programme (SMP) is an ongoing annual monitoring programme, established in 1986, of 26 species of seabird that regularly breed in Britain and Ireland.  It aims to ensure that sample data on breeding numbers and breeding success of seabirds are collected, both regionally and nationally, to enable their conservation status to be assessed.   The SMP is led and co-ordinated by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) in partnership with others. In November 2009 all Partners signed a Statement of Intent that established the way forward for future data sharing and collaborative working.

Manx BirdLife is a member of the Manx Nature Conservation Forum, launched in 2009. Then in 2010, International Year of Biodiversity, a major step was taken towards an integrated approach to biological recording on the Isle of Man by the creation of a Biological Recording Partnership with Manx BirdLife also one of the partners. Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society - aims to advance the knowledge of natural history and human history and cultural development, especially in the Isle of Man and related countries. Events are held throughout the year with excursions in summer and lectures in winter.  Some are particularly suitable for children.

Isle of Man Woodland Trust – aims are to protect and maintain the existing woodland on the Isle of Man and to create new woodland and enhance the existing woodland on the Isle of Man

Manx Basking Shark Project – studying the Basking Sharks that migrate past the Isle of Man.

Manx Bat Group -  for all those interested in the bats of the Isle of Man.

Manx Butterfly Conservation – registered charity working to conserve butterflies and moths on the Isle of Man. 

Manx National Heritage – part of the Isle of Man Government. Run award-winning heritage sites including the Manx Museum, House of Manannan, Peel Castle, Castle Rushen. Their countryside assets are vital to Island wildlife: The Calf of Man, Spanish Head and The Chasms, Maughold Brooghs are just some of them.
