A number of books have been published about the birds and wildlife of the Isle of Man. Some are out of print, but it is worth searching second hand book sellers for a copy.

The Calf of Man, W Lockington Marshall (1978), Shearwater Press. The history and folklore of the Calf of Man, with chapters on the Manx Shearwater and the flora and fauna.
Bird Observatories in Britain and Ireland, Edited by Roger Durman (1976), T & AD Poyser. Includes a chapter on the Calf of Man by Malcolm Wright.
Island by Malcolm Wright in Birdwatchers’ Year (1973), T & A D Poyser. An excellent account of the Calf of Man by one of its longest serving Wardens.
The Naturalist in the Isle of Man, Larch S Garrard (1972), David & Charles. The geology, plants and wildlife of the island.
Isle of Man, Canon E.H. Stenning (1950), Robert Hale Ltd. One of the classic ‘County’ series of books. A detailed account of the history of the Isle of Man, but also includes chapters on flora and fauna.
Periodicals
‘Peregrine’ - The journal of the Manx Ornithological Society. Contains the annual Manx Bird Report and various ornithological and natural history articles.
The Calf of Man Bird Observatory Annual Report – obtainable from the Manx Museum.
