Michelle Storton is Education Officer for Manx Birdlife, and in her role she is often ‘out in the field’ with young people delivering birdwatching sessions to schools.
As we are right in the middle of the RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch, it seemed the perfect time for Manx Radio to go along with Michelle to witness one of her class visits. So Christy DeHaven put on her warmest coat and went along with Michelle to Ashley Hill School in Onchan, to see what she could see...
The class visit includes a short inside session about how to look for birds, what to look for and the different skills involved, and some outdoors exploration.
The RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch runs until 21st February 2020, and is held every year.
