It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Mrs Anne Kaye, Vice Chair of the Manx Ornithological Society.
Anne was a great friend to Manx ornithology and to wildlife conservation on the Isle of Man and beyond.
Anne was well known to all who travelled on the Scrayll (Shearwater) to the Calf of Man with Juan Clague (who sadly also passed away recently).
MOS Chairman, Dr Richard Selman added:
'It is with great sadness that I report that Anne Kaye, MOS Vice Chair, was taken ill a couple of days ago and sadly passed away yesterday. She has been at the heart of our committee work for many years, undertaking an enormous amount of work behind the scenes to give us interesting evenings and days out and we have depended on her a great deal. Anne had suffered some difficulties with health in the winter, but her demise was not Covid-related. Our thoughts are with her family, who are grieving in a difficult time during lockdown. Anne will be very much missed by all who knew her.'
Manx BirdLife shall always be grateful for Anne's active interest in - and unstinting support for - our work. She was pivotal in providing early impetus for the Manx BirdLife Point of Ayre National Reserve project. We shall remember Anne with great fondness.
We offer our sincere condolences to Anne's family.
