Manx BirdLife is thrilled to have been chosen as one of the Co-op’s Local Community Fund Causes. The funding round will start on Sunday 19 October 2025 and will run for 12 months until 17 October 2026. During this time, Co-op Members can choose Manx BirdLife as their cause, the more members who choose us the more money we will receive.
It is so easy do, just download the Co-op App, become a member and choose our cause (cause number 100225), so we can receive a share of £5m.
The funding that we receive will contribute towards the purchase of quality optical equipment for the Outdoor Education Programme at the Manx BirdLife Point of Ayre National Reserve.
Items like binoculars and spotting scopes are an essential tool for all wildlife watching so purchasing this equipment will allow us to fully engage nature enthusiasts of all ages with the amazing wildlife found at the reserve.
We believe that experiencing nature helps to foster empathy, awareness and a sense of responsibility for nature and that by engaging directly with birds and habitats of the Isle of Man, we can build a strong sense of stewardship for the nature reserves and a commitment to protecting our natural heritage within the next generation of conservationists and environmental advocates within the local community.
